Privacy Policy - Follow Extension

What data does Follow collect?

Follow is designed to collect minimal data. Here's what we handle:

1. Screenshot (Optional)

When you click the "Stuck on this step?" button and type a question, the extension may capture a screenshot of your current tab. This screenshot is sent to Anthropic's Claude API along with your question to provide contextual help.

This feature only runs when you explicitly trigger it. Screenshots are not captured automatically or in the background.

2. Content you provide

When using Follow, you may provide:

• YouTube video URLs (to generate step-by-step guides)
• Text descriptions of what you want to learn
• Images you upload or paste (to replicate designs)
• Questions when you're stuck on a step

How is your data used?

All data is used solely to generate step-by-step guides and answer your questions. Follow does not store, sell, or share your data for advertising or marketing purposes.

Third-party services

Follow uses the following AI services to process your requests:

• Anthropic Claude API: For generating guides from text/images and answering "stuck" questions (may include screenshots)
• Google Gemini API: For analyzing YouTube videos to extract steps

These services process your data according to their own privacy policies. Follow does not retain data after processing.

What data is NOT collected?

• No personal identification information (name, email, etc.)
• No browsing history
• No usage analytics or tracking
• No data stored on our servers

Data retention

Follow does not store any data on external servers. All processing happens in real-time through the AI APIs mentioned above. Screenshots and prompts are not logged or retained after the API response is received.

Permissions

Follow requests only the minimum permissions necessary:

• activeTab: Allows the extension to capture screenshots when you explicitly ask for help on a step
